Leading Change

Organisational change and change management has a reputation for being messy and tricky to deal with.  Often the only preparation given to managers is to be told the theory of change cycles and change processes.

I believe that approach is outdated and unsuccessful.  Traditional methods of understanding the change process only go so far. They don't deal with the fact that change programmes need to be tailor-made around specific needs.

I believe to make change 'stick', you have to coach leaders and managers to focus on the emotional impacts. Managing and leading change is about becoming aware of the underlying, often highly negative embeded feelings that change processes produce in employees. It takes emotional intelligence skills to deal with change and support people to see things from a different perspective.

" I would like to say a huge thank you for such an energetic, fun and engaging two days. I was extremely impressed with the attitude and positivity, and the willingness to all join in together (D. Kirk - Head of MRB) "

Establishing the key principles for the whole team is very important, as is collaboration, ownership and taking responsibility. The real trick and greatest impact is being able to shift the mindset and perspective of the whole team. It takes time to help people to see change as an opportunity and not a threat!

I have a wealth of personal experience and expertise helping leadership and management teams successfullly lead operational change.

I believe that preparing for change is not about seeking 'off-the-peg' solutions. Each organisation and change is very unique to each and every team and unique circumstance. I believe that coaching and facilitating teams around 'tailor-made' solutions works best.

To make change 'stick' I run pragmatic and interactive workshops. It's all about engaging, influencing and persuading people to change.
