Understanding how to harness conflict is vital for high performing teams. This model describes five different approaches or conflict styles to how people think and react to the importance of tasks versus relationships. It’s derived from a popular managing conflict model created by Thomas-Kilmann. Each conflict style has advantages and disadvantages briefly outlined on the model. The key to harness conflict is to purposefully select the right style to handle different situations.
